Dr. Jamal Kassouma is a distinguished otolaryngologist with more than three decades of experience in ear, nose, and throat surgery. He began his medical journey at Aleppo University in 1981 and later completed advanced surgical training in Damascus, followed by specialized training in the prestigious Manchester Deanery Rotation in the United Kingdom.

His expertise in cochlear implant surgery was further developed in the UK, where he became a consultant by 2001. Driven by a vision to make a meaningful impact, he returned to Syria in 2002 and successfully performed the country’s first cochlear implant surgery, marking a major milestone in advancing hearing care in the region.

Dr. Kassouma has also served as a professor at Damascus University, contributing significantly to medical education and training surgeons across the Middle East. Since relocating to the UAE in 2012, he has continued his pioneering work, performing around 700 cochlear implant procedures along with numerous bone conduction hearing implant surgeries.

With over 10,000 complex ear surgeries performed, Dr. Kassouma is known for his precision, innovation, and compassionate approach. He remains dedicated to restoring hearing and improving quality of life while advocating for greater acceptance of hearing aids and cochlear implants.
